Sheldon Open Air Theatre 2019

Come and enjoy great magical nights out under the stars in a very special corner of the Teign Valley. It's a beautiful natural amphitheatre shape nestled into the hillside with a backdrop of oak woodland. Seating is on grass banks and terraces and there's an easy access deck where you can bring a chair if you can't sit on the ground in the main auditorium.

Intriguingly, it is set in the grounds of a retreat centre, but on theatre concert nights a quiet retreat is the last thing on our minds. No, we're here to offer you a great night out with friendly volunteers to welcome you, show you where to park, cook hot food in our Burger Bar and look after everyone's safety needs. It's a very family-friendly venue with a festival style atmosphere.

We've been here since 1977 - Devon's oldest open air theatre - quirky, intimate, friendly and professional. We look forward to welcoming you!

(PS. A special thank you to all the superb local businesses who support the theatre (would you like to sponsor us too?) - do click their links and mention Sheldon when you use their services.)

ROAD CLOSURES: You may encounter closure/diversion signs on the Teign Valley Road between Chudleigh and Sheldon. The contractors have assured us that the works will not be starting until midnight so you should be fine to just drive on through, but if we have any additional info we'll post it with other 'on the day' details here.
